I would like to thank all the Young Women who came to the great fireside this week. Brother and Sister Draper were great. Sister Draper talked about being prepared, and likened it to growing a nice garden, and the work that goes into that.(OK, nobody is allowed to see how many weeds are in my garden right now!) One of the scriptures she used was Alma 17:2-3." 2 Now these sons of Mosiah were with Alma at the time the angel afirst appeared unto him; therefore Alma did rejoice exceedingly to see his brethren; and what added more to his joy, they were still his brethren in the Lord; yea, and they had waxed strong in the knowledge of the truth; for they were men of a sound understanding and they had bsearched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God.
3 But this is not all; they had given themselves to much prayer, and afasting; therefore they had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and when they taught, they taught with bpower and authority of God. "
Brother Draper talked about our theme, Mosiah 5:15, Be Steadfast and Immovable . .
I was so impressed with the way you all seemed to know the scriptures. He kept asking for scripture references from the scripture mastery scriptures, and so many of you all seemed to know them. The scriptures are so important. I hope you will continue to read them.
This week is YOUTH CONFERENCE! So . . .

Cascade 7th Ward Youth Conference Sept 26th&27th
26th-6pm-dinner will be served, followed by a fireside. Sunday Dress. 27th-Breakfast at 8:00 am, followed by games and a service project. Modest casual dress please.
Lunch will also be provided.
Come see if you have what it takes to endure it all.
This will NOT be an overnight youth conference.

I vote we have young women's every week. Including weeks we have other youth activities.
It's like we're slacking off... like a "by" week in football.
But who doesn't want to play football all the time?

youth conference was SO much fun!!!
human foosball was my favorite, but i liked stuffing my face with worms, too.
And, i think my brain is going to explode with scripture memorization overload. =D

Brittney, you make me giggle every time I read your comments. I am glad you had a fun time at YC. But glad I did not have to eat any worms.

They were just gummy worms coated in... well, brittney doesn't know what it was, but its sour. It tasted cool with the oreo dirt.... you all missed out.
